The University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) has opened a state-of-the-art cardiology and pulmonary care center in its Outpatient Care Center in Glen Burnie. The 22,000-square-foot facility brings heart and lung specialists together to enhance patient care with advanced diagnostics, on-site pharmacy services, and innovative treatments.
"This new space enables us to tackle pervasive conditions like heart disease and lung issues with comprehensive care," said Kathy McCollum, President and CEO of UM BWMC.
The facility features 34 exam rooms, cutting-edge testing capabilities, and seamless access to the hospital's critical care unit and catheterization labs. An on-site pharmacist ensures patients can afford and maintain their medications, and collaborations with the University of Maryland Medical System provide access to leading specialists and clinical trials.
