Below is the 2024 SCJ Large School All-Area Football Team.
It is led by Player of the Year Zayvion Ellington of Sergeant Bluff-Luton. The two-way senior earned all-state first team honors in Class 3A and was a part of the Warriors thundering rushing attack which got them to the state semifinals.
The team is also filled from members of Sioux City East, Bishop Heelan and Le Mars who all finished with the season with six wins. Members from Storm Lake, Spencer and MOC-Floyd Valley also earned spots with their individual success on the gridiron.

LARGE SCHOOL ALL-AREA COACH OF THE YEAR
Justin Smith, Sergeant Bluff-Luton --- Smith brought the Warriors football program back to the center stage of Iowa high school football, bouncing back from a 2-7 finish in 2023. SBL won 11 games for the first time since 2015 and made its first appearance at the UNI-Dome since 2019 with its dynamic rushing attack.
Honorable mention: Michael Winklepleck, Sioux City East --- The Black Raiders were field goal away from potentially advancing in the team's second straight appearance in the Class 3A postseason. Winklepleck's explosive offense helped the team achieve a 6-4 record and average 32.8 points per game.
