One person is dead after an early morning blaze in Hartford on Sunday.
Hartford firefighters responded to the fire at 873 West Boulevard at the city's West End neighborhood around 1 a.m., according to the Hartford Fire Department.
Firefighters quickly extinguished and contained a kitchen fire. Hartford firefighters removed an occupant from the apartment. The person was transported to the hospital but later was confirmed dead. Details about the person, including their identity, were not available.
The Hartford Fire Department's Special Services Unit will work with the American Red Cross to assist families if necessary, according to officials.
The Hartford Fire Department said that no firefighters were injured, and the fire remains under investigation.
