Supervisor Kathleen Vincent Calls for Stronger Gun Control on Board Floor Following Madison School Shooting

MILWAUKEE -- In the wake of the tragic school shooting in Madison, Supervisor Kathleen Vincent called for action on gun control and stronger regulations to protect students and educators during the Milwaukee County Board's December meeting.

"Classrooms must be spaces where students feel safe to learn, explore, and thrive -- not places of fear," said Supervisor Vincent. "This heartbreaking incident is yet another reminder that we must take bold, decisive steps to prevent gun violence and ensure our children's safety. The time for meaningful gun reform is now."

Supervisor Vincent emphasized the importance of creating a secure environment for students to reach their full potential. She urged lawmakers at all levels to strengthen regulations, close loopholes, and implement comprehensive measures to prevent future tragedies.

"Our youth are resilient and steadfast in their determination to create a brighter future. Their courage and passion inspire us all to take meaningful action and build a community where every child feels safe, valued, and supported as they grow."
