Cold front to bring rain to Charlotte, snow to mountains

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Another cold front will bring chances for a few showers in Charlotte and even some snow showers in the mountains tomorrow. Over the weekend, colder and drier air will settle across the Carolinas, dropping temperatures well below freezing.

Winter arrives on Saturday and it's definitely going to feel like it through early next week. Expect more clouds than sunshine for the rest of today with highs in the 50s. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and chilly with lows in the 30s and 40s.

On Friday there will be a chance for some scattered showers in Charlotte otherwise expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-50s. Some snow showers can be expected in the mountains, especially during the afternoon hours. Up to 2'' of snow will be possible in the higher elevations; highs in the mountains will range from the mid to upper 30s.

This weekend will be much colder! Both Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny and cold with highs in the 40s.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Rain chances will return on Wednesday and highs will remain cool in the 50s.
