Vicki Anne (Crocker) Boss

KENT CITY, Mich. and Maine - Vicki Boss was given her wings to Heaven on the morning of Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Vicki was born June 3, 1957, in Skowhegan, to Charles and Theresa Crocker. From an incredibly young age, Vicki was a caring and loving light to all those who knew her and put her whole heart into everything she did. Vicki attended Anson, Madison and Carrabec schools and received her Bachelor of Science teaching degree from the University of Maine at Farmington. She was a communicant of St. John Paul II's Catholic Church in Cedar Springs, Mich. where she felt at home and included.

Vicki married the love of her life, Patrick Boss, in Michigan on July 8, 2021. Pat made her feel loved, valued, and gave her a voice that she had not always had. They were a gift and a blessing to each other.

Vicki's greatest joys in her life were her boys, Jesse and Virgil Harding and later, Virgil's wife, Ashley and all her grandchildren, whether near or far, away physically. Her thoughts were never far from them and her love for them was always present.

Vicki loved their doggies, Cocoa, Skye, Bella, and Tyson and her three cats, Sassy, Lucy and Lucky, and they all adored her.

Vicki worked hard and at times held more than one job at a time. She was always kind and grateful for whatever she had and would give anything she had to anyone in need, regardless of her own situation. She spread her love in doing for and in loving others, never wanting to ask for help or ask for anything for herself and she put her whole heart into everything she did. She never asked for anything in return.

Vicki was an outstanding cook and loved to share her food and cooking with family and friends. Her house was always immaculate. Vicki loved feeding the birds and knew just how to attract them.

Vicki was a talented gardener and grew beautiful flowers and vegetables when she was well, sharing them with friends and neighbors.

Vicki worked for Gerontology Network as director of the Travelling Grannies and Grandpas Program, which paired volunteers with children at risk in local schools. She later worked at Senior Neighbors as director of the volunteer programs for older folks who helped their fellow neighbors needing assistance, as well as administration of those programs. Her programs were an enormous success, and the volunteers absolutely loved Vicki. She treated all with dignity and respect and volunteers often wanted to move from their programs to Vicki's. Her Volunteer Recognition programs were truly about the volunteers she loved, and they excelled under her leadership.

Vicki was predeceased by her son, Jesse Harding; her granddaughter, Annabelle Jacenta Harding; her parents; her husband, Mark Suliin; and her furry friend, Tigger.

Vicki is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Boss of Michigan; her son, Virgil "Bo" and his wife, Ashley and granddaughter Emily Rose; grandchildren Cierra Harding, Justine Harding and Kaleb Harding; four sisters, Christine and Edward Arsenault, Irene and Amedeo (Chris) Christopher, Delores and Orman Whitcomb, all of Maine, and, Janet and Dana Andrews of Minnesota; as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind six stepchildren.

Vicki was truly a light in this world, and we will always feel blessed and thankful for her presence in our lives.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Vicki on Saturday Jan. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to share memories and stories in the ballroom at Governor's Restaurant and Bakery located at Fireside Inn and Suites, 376 Main St., Waterville. Lunch will be served.

There will be a Mass for Vicki at St. Sebastian Catholic Church on Main Street in Madison on Monday, May 12 at 8 a.m. with burial to follow at 9 a.m. in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Madison.

"Life is not measured by the breaths that we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
