MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - The Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia is serving 1,800 meals to those in need on Christmas Eve.
Development Director at the Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia , Amy Walker, says residents and volunteers have worked hard in the kitchen, cooking and preparing food for the Christmas Eve meal.
Volunteers will make plates to deliver throughout the community to those in need who have requested a meal on Christmas Eve.
Meals will also be served at Loaves and Fishes, which is located at 651 Martin Luther King Blvd in Macon. Food, hygiene kits, and coats will be distributed beginning at 10 a.m.
Walker says people do not need to register to receive a meal at Loaves and Fishes on December 24.
