Lizzo Looks Good as Hell in the New IG Video, But What Does 'Wood Tools' Have to Do With Her New Figure? Here's The Tea

For Lizzo, 2024 was all about her weight loss journey, as the "About Damn Time" artist showed off her head-turning transformation to her nearly 12 million Instagram followers. As she steps into a new year, ya girl is showing no signs of slowing down, still putting in the work with her diet and fitness regimen and sharing her amazing results.

In a December 8 Instagram post, the singer is all smiles in a video wearing a two-piece swimsuit. The post has since received nearly 200,000 likes and lots of love in the comments from fans who are proud of the work she's done.

"Yaaasss girl!! Proud of you!! That hard work is showing up!!" wrote someone in the comments.

And while most of the chatter has been about Lizzo's sexy shape, many online want to know more about the wooden tools she's using to massage herself with in the clip.

"Thats right, baby. Work the tension out of your fascia!!! Them wooden tools are everything. EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! πŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸΎ" wrote a commenter.

The technique, also known as maderotherapy, uses wooden tools on the face, arms, legs and torso area to help break down fat and cellulite and improve blood circulation. While we don't yet have scientific evidence of the effectiveness of maderotherapy, some of the other potential benefits include stress relief and loosening tight muscles, according to Verywell Health.

Lizzo isn't the only star who swears by wood therapy. In a July 2023 Instagram video, actress Tracee Ellis Ross gives herself a wood therapy massage in a post she tagged, "Y'all think this sh*t is a game?!? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ thank you @olfaperbalparis for these torture tools that seem to lift and smooth this 50 year old kit."

If that's all it takes to get rid of cellulite and relieve stress, should everyone break out their rolling pins and start rubbing down our rolls?

Master body sculptor @desaunique says wood therapy is great, but cautions people to get the treatment from someone who understands anatomy. She warns that applying too much pressure during a massage could do more harm than good, resulting in pain and bruising of the skin.

"Wood therapy should not be painful. It should feel like a massage," she said in a TikTok clip.
