March 11, 1930 - January 13, 2025
With great sadness, her family announces the passing of E. Kathryn "Katie" Troyer of Bloomington, Ill. on January 13, 2025. She was 94 years old.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Jan (John) Cregier and Jill (Brian) Livengood; grandchildren, Lindsay (Josh) Rollins, Courtney (Tim) Golter, Kathryn and Jonathan Livengood; great-grandchildren, Chase, Braelynn, Olivia, Simon and Quinten. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loren Troyer; her parents, John and Winifred Lindsay; and siblings, Melvin and Richard Lindsay.
Katie was born on March 11, 1930 and was raised in McLean County. She met Loren during a summer spent detasseling corn, and they were married on January 13, 1949. They shared 73 wonderful years together and were reunited in heaven on what would have been their 76th wedding anniversary- a beautiful love story from beginning to end.
Katie was kind and warm-hearted, and was regarded as "mom" and "grandma" to many more than just her immediate family. Everyone was sure to feel her love; be it through a big hug, advice over coffee, help with a 4-H project, or a bag of freshly baked cookies. She lived a full life and her family will hold dear the memories they created together. She was one in a million and her loss will be deeply felt.
Visitation will be Saturday January 18, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kibler Brady Ruestman Memorial Home with a service following. After, a graveside service will take place at the Hudson Cemetery, Hudson, Ill. Memorial contributions may be made to McLean County 4-H, Wesley United Methodist Church, and the American Heart Association.
