Several people were injured, including children, after two vehicles collided in Long County Friday night. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the incident happened around 9 p.m. Troopers say a black SUV was traveling east on GA Hwy 196, west of Joe Kennedy Road, when the driver of that vehicle attempted to pass another vehicle, and struck a white sedan in the opposite direction head-on.GSP said the driver of the white sedan was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, their condition is unknown. The driver and three children that were traveling in the black SUV were taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville to be treated for minor injuries, troopers said.GSP said that none of the children were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Charges are pending against the driver of the black SUV.Georgia State Patrol is continuing their investigation into the cause of the accident.
