Crystal Holli (Haller) Hodsdon Morabito
JOHNSON, CITY, N.Y. - Crystal Holli (Haller) Hodsdon Morabito, 67, died unexpectedly at her home in Johnson City, N.Y., on Nov. 23, 2024. Crystal was born in Portland, Maine on the 12th day of Christmas, 1957. She was the oldest child of Martha (Felix Haller) Foss-Clark and Alfred Haller. Crystal married her first husband, Bruce Hodsdon, in 1975, and her second husband in 1997, Tony Morabito, to whom she remained married until her death.
Crystal lived a colorful life. At different times she was a biker, a Girl Scout troop leader, a dedicated church member, a talented crafter, a union worker at MSEA-SEIU Local 1989, and an HIV spokesperson and advocate. She had lifelong substance use disorder, which led to many experiences with the justice system. She found joy in gardening and houseplants, her animals, and riding motorcycles.
Crystal was predeceased by her mother, Martha, and her father, Alfred; and her brother-in-law, Jaime Piñero.
Crystal is survived by her husband, Anthony Morabito; sister, Caj (Haller) Piñero; her stepmother, Betty Haller; and her stepsisters Marijke and Bronwyn. Crystal is also survived by her children, Jennifer Hodsdon, Danielle (Hodsdon) Brown, and Paul Wheelock; her first husband, Bruce Hodsdon; her grandchildren, Soleil (MacDonald) Kito, Kris Brown, and Nicholas Brown; and the spirit of rock 'n roll.
A celebration of life will be held in the Portland area
in Summer 2025
